- AMANDA Public Portal II (December 2017 to June 2020)This activity supports the configuration and deployment of the Jamaica Development Application Portal (AMANDA Public Portal II), which will allow individuals/firms to make online submissions and track the progress of building applications and environmental permits.
- Design, Develop and Implement Phases Two of the National Business Portal (NBP) Project (August 2019 to June 2020)The creation of a National Business Portal (NBP) will complement and support the National Investment Policy by providing a Business-to-Government online interface for all Government entities involved in the investment or business facilitation process.
- Merger Regime Training and Sensitization (Contract to be awarded )This is a follow-on from the prior consutlancy which seeks to enable the implementation of the amendments to the FCA with respect to Mergers and Acquisitions.
- Consultancy for the Development of a National Spatial Planning Information Technology (NSPIT) PlatformThe Government of Jamaica (GOJ) has embarked on the preparation of a National Spatial Plan that will provide the strategic spatial framework to guide national development and investment decision-making. The development of a National Spatial Planning Information Technology (NSPIT) Platform will be used to disseminate planning information to guide spatial development at the national, regional and local levels.
- Organisational Re-Design of Trade Regulatory Services In Border Regulatory Agencies of GovernmentThe objective of this consultancy is to arrive at a rationalised organisational structure in the trade regulatory services of the seven (7) selected agencies. The ultimate aim is to realign the agencies to realise the potential for reduced cost (including costs to the users), enhanced productivity, professional development and quantum improvement in the ease of doing business in Jamaica.
- Legislative Technical Assistance and Regulatory Drafting of the Special Economic Zone Act (June to October 2015)The output of the consultancy was Drafting Instructions for new primary legislation and regulations that would govern the operations of SEZs and establish a SEZ Authority. The Special Economic Zones Act was passed in 2016, and the Jamaica Special Economic Zone Authority (JSEZA) was established as the agency responsible for facilitating the development of and promoting investments in Special Economic Zones (SEZs).
- Development of a National Investment Policy for Jamaica (October 2017 to July 2018)The output of this consultancy was a Draft Green Paper National Investment Policy that will provide an enabling environment for foreign and local investment; coordinate dialogue; and encourage efficient work across different sectors and ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs).
- Creating the Framework for a Merger Review - Competition Law Technical Assistance and Regulatory Drafting Consultant (September 2017 to June 2018)The main objective of the assignment was to provide technical assistance in creating merger provisions in the Fair Competition Act, along with its supporting regulations as required, while ensuring that the law speaks directly to the operation of a merger review regime that is appropriate for Jamaica.
- Increasing the Effectiveness of Competition Advocacy (August 2018 to March 2019)The main objectives of this assignment was to increase the effectiveness of competition advocacy in Jamaica through capacity building within the FTC on the relevant competition advocacy tools to support the implementation of the proposed recommendations. The main outputs of this consultancy were the development of an Advocacy Strategy and Implementation Plan.
- Insolvency Regime (March 2018)Training of 80 Attorneys and Insolvency Practitioners on the new insolvency regime. Sensitisation of 55 Parish Court Judges on the new insolvency regime.
- Equipment Support for AMANDA The FCGP purchased and delivered computers and related hardware to all Government stakeholders in each municipal jurisdiction to support efficient back office operations and processing by AMANDA Business users.
