FCGP helps Phase Three to re-tool with DBJ/World Bank Loan
In business, timing is everything. For most Micro, Small & Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in Jamaica – affordable loans are not just important – they are critical. Just ask businessman and CEO Delano Forbes of the Kingston-based television and multi-media services company, Phase Three Productions Ltd. He’ll attest to the importance of fortuitous business timing – and access to affordable financing.
Phase Three has long offered an incredible array of services. These range from taking on projects of an international nature, like multi-camera TV coverage in High Definition (HD) format for CONCACAF and World Cup qualifier football matches distributed worldwide, to local events such as the live TV boxing series, ‘Contender’ and Boys & Girls Champs, for national broadcast.
It was a Development Bank of Jamaica (DBJ) loan facility in the early 2000s that enabled Phase Three to make the bold step to upgrade from analog to digital technologies. The LED screens, of which Phase Three has the widest variety in Jamaica, were secured through a low cost loan from the firm’s commercial bank.
